Dr. Nachman has led the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Stony Brook University Medical Center since 1992. She serves as Principal Investigator of numerous private pharmaceutical clinical research protocols and heads the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) initiative funded by the National Institutes of Child Health and Development (NICHD) at Stony Brook, as well as other National Institutes of Health (NIH) initiatives. In addition, she is the Director of the Office of Clinical Trials and the Associate Dean of Scientific Affairs.Dr. Nachman has published extensively on antibiotics and vaccines as well as maternal and pediatric HIV clinical research and is a nationally and internationally renowned speaker. She is a member of the National Medical Honor Society, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from SUNY Stony Brook in 1997 and has been honored by the Department of Pediatrics for Excellence in Teaching in 2001 and 2002.
